Partners in Education
Ikego Elementary and DESRON
15 joined forces to further enhance community and school relations. This
is our third year as partners, and what a success and joy it has been
for all involved. Sailors, students, and staff alike have expressed their
excitement over this partnership. Students have shown their support by
mailing letters, banners, and videos to the ships during deployments.
They have also been spotted on the waterfront singing Christmas Carols
on the ships. Sailors have been seen reading to students in the classroom,
chaperoning field trips, and lending a helping hand where needed during
the Spring Carnival and around the school campus. This partnership has
been a rewarding experience for all involved.
