Second Grade
The second grade team consists of five teachers at Ikego Elementary School. Class sizes range from 19-21 students. Each second grade classroom is equipped with at least 4 Windows XP computers, which we use to infuse technology with our curriculum standards.
Our curriculum is supported by the following programs:
Reading and Writing
- Literacy Place by Scholastic
Mathematics - Silver Burdett Ginn
Science - Scholastic Unit kits: Energy, Life Cycles, Rocks and Soils
Social Studies - McGraw Hill
Health - Harcourt Brace
We use additional tools to create a learning environment, rich with hands-on activities. We enjoy planning events together. During the school year, we take class field trips to places such as:
China Town for Chinese
New Year
Sea Paradise
Daibutsu (Big Buddha)

(Dr. Seuss Celebration) in March
Annual Walk-a-thon
PTO Carnival
